Rating and Third-Party Assessment Process

The Green Globes™ system is questionnaire-driven. At each stage of the design process, users are walked through a logical sequence of questions that guide their next steps and provide guidance for integrating important elements of sustainability. The construction documents questionnaire is the basis for the rating system, however to fully benefit from the revolutionary value-added design assistance features of the system—and to obtain a preliminary self-assessment of your building—we recommend registering your building at Use Green Globes and completing the preliminary and subsequent questionnaires.

Buildings cannot be promoted as having achieved a Green Globes rating until a GBI-authorized assessment takes place. This third-party assessment process takes place in two stages. The first stage includes a review of the Construction Documents developed through the design process. The second stage includes a walk-through of the building post-construction.
